2011 Chevrolet Volt - Loaded With Baggage and Planning to Go Far


THE Chevrolet Volt was born with a long to-do list. Resuscitate General Motors and defy critics of the company’s federal bailout. Demonstrate that G.M. can match Toyota’s green might. Prove that plug-in cars are more than a feel-good exercise.

All told, the Volt was weighed down with so much political and social baggage that I was surprised it could pull away from the curb.

Chevrolet launches 2011 Orlando minivan in Europe, hopes to attract new customers


Chevrolet’s new Orlando model has an unconventional appearance, which the carmaker hopes will attract customers in Europe's medium minivan segment. The Orlando features a sweeping roofline that makes it look almost like a crossover. At the minivan's press launch, Federico Sanguinetti, CEO of Chevrolet Italy, said that the Orlando offers the “driving dynamics of a passenger car, the look of an SUV and the versatility and cargo space of a minivan.”

Saturn Ion Is Investigated Following Power Steering Failures


The 2007 Saturn Ion is being investigated after numerous drivers reported electric power steering failures.

After fielding more than 600 complaints, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating whether General Motors should have recalled 384,000 Saturn Ion coupes and sedans as part of a larger recall earlier this year.
