2012 BMW M5

Exterior and Interior 2012 BMW M5 Along with the mechanical changes, the 2013 BMW M5 will also have a new exterior and more luxury-oriented interior. We know that the 6 Series CoupĂ© concept prior to the next generation of the 6 Series, but the BMW M5 is expected to also borrow elements from it.

Spy photos reveal new production tires, new shifter, and the flesh searches for Pirelli tires. The interior also have new seats and a tachometer with a small red line.

The F10 M5 will be offered with ceramic brakes, a first for a production model BMW. The ceramic brakes provide great stopping power and wear out over time, produce less brake dust, and are very light. This type of brakes are also used for models like the Porsche GT2 and Nissan GT-R.

Engine 2012 BMW M5

“A company car daring touch of a button becomes a sports car.”
For the next BMW M5, BMW use the same engine found in the X6 M, but the twin-turbo 4. 4-liter V8 engine that puts out 555 HP and 680 Nm of torque at X6M rumored to be capable of delivering 578 HP in the BMW M5.

There’s a reason this car is being promoted so much and the reason can be found in the performance numbers. Dr. Kay Segler, president of BMW M GmbH, describes the BMW M5 as “a bold company car at the touch of a button turns into a sports car.” It will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 155 mph or 188 km / h with the optional M driver package.

The car also will have a limited slip differential with electronic monitoring and Dynamic Performance Control.

When I can get one?

BMW has announced that the BMW M5, eventually will be released at the Shanghai Motor Show – albeit in concept form, the same place where BMW will also bring the Cup Series 6. A production version will be released in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Competition

Next BMW M5 will face models like the Jaguar XF-R, Cadillac CTS-V, and the Audi S6.
If the rumors are true about the BMW M5, and it really delivers 578 HP, the M5 is the most powerful model and its competitors have much to fear. Moreover, the XF-R has its benefits too. It’s more elegant and luxurious with a good amount of aggressiveness in its design. It can only be powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that pumps of 510 HP, but these other factors likely to influence some votes in the direction of Jaguar.

The Cadillac CTS-V has also gained much ground in the U.S. market, and rightly so. On the one hand, it is cheap compared to other models – starts from $ 64,290 – and also has an impressive 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 with an output of 556 HP and 551 lb-ft of torque.
