2011 FPV Boss 335 GT makes its debut in Australia

Ford has recently unveiled a new Falcon GT Boss 335 lineup, in Australia. FPV’s new Falcon GT models are featured with a supercharged version of Ford’s 5.0-liter V-8 seen in the Mustang GT in the States. Prodrive specially designed this vehicle in Australia. Because of the added supercharger, its power output has been enhanced to 450hp and 420 pound-feet of torque, increases of 28 and 20, respectively.
FPV asserts that this makes the GT lineup as its most powerful vehicle and it marks the first use of a supercharger in the history of the brand. FPV general manager Rod Barrett, in a prepared statement, said that the new engine “all-round performance” sets a benchmark for Australian-made cars. He asserted further that FPV’s customers won’t be dismayed by the new GT range, or in the way the cars drive. He also talked about FPV’s real customers and the fact that it has a ”real presence with the new graphics package.” GT variants range from “mild to wild.”

At the lower end of the spectrum, there is the GT model that features the basics of the Falcon with an upgraded brake kit and a wild graphics package. It is equipped with new brakes -- 13-inch Brembo units with four-piston calipers front and rear. To give the car some added road presence, it can be given the hockey-stick graphics package that adds a stripe running from the top of the front fender to the rear fender, large rear spoiler, and new, dark-tinted, 19-inch wheels. The next variant is the GT-P, which means GT performance.

The GT-P is almost identical to the standard GT except for the brakes. FPV upgraded the brakes on the GT, but takes them one step further with the GT-P by slightly increasing the size of the rear brakes (about 13 inches, but 328 mm to 330 mm) and replacing the four-piston front calipers with six-piston units. The same hockey-stick graphics and rear wing are featured on the GT-P, but with an exclusive set of 19-inch wheels. The GT-E is FPV’s new range-topping model. The GT-E has all the upgrades featured on the GT-P and makes it more elegant. The graphics package is made in the large rear spoiler, which has been replaced by a subtle lip spoiler, and the front fascia is all body color. For a little chrome, FYI added a bit of chrome window and grille trim. It will now have 10-spoke, 19-inch wheels. It will also get amenities such as the power seats, an upgraded sound system, walnut trim, and full-leather seating.
